At the end of October, 52 educators from Kryvyi Rih gathered in Kyiv for a five-day training program called “Resource Workshop”. Smart Osvita partnered in the event and adapted the “Psychosocial Support for Educators” program specifically for school principals and administrative teams. The training was held within the project “KRYTSIA: Support for the Recovery of Kryvyi Rih”.
Practice that becomes part of daily work

Trainers Nataliia Portnytska, Olha Savychenko, and Iryna Tychyna helped participants not only gain new knowledge but also see how to apply it every day — in working with colleagues, parents, and children.
“Thank you for the structure, detail, and depth. Thank you to the Smart Osvita trainers for consistency and teamwork, for creating different situations and showing how to resolve them,” participants shared afterward.

What tools educators took with them
- A 5-step model for providing psychosocial support that helps connect theory with practice.
- Approaches to communicating with parents and students, including in crisis situations.
- Skills for establishing contact with a person experiencing stress.
- “Resilience cards” as a new tool for group work with colleagues and students.

For many, these days became not only a learning experience but also an opportunity to make sense of their own experiences and find inner resources to support others.
The “Resource Workshop” was part of the “KRYTSIA: Support for the Recovery of Kryvyi Rih” project, implemented by LuxDev (the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency), funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and carried out in partnership with the Smart Osvita NGO.
