Our “NUS” media website is not only about recent educational news. The editor’s office is working to create methodological materials for teachers, to inform them about important amendments to legislation, to raise the mood with fun collections, and for educational managers and all who are interested in Ukraine’s education to provide high-quality analyses.
Another sphere of the NUS website activity is to provide legal clarification of difficult documents in “simple” words. Moreover, every day the editor’s office receives more than 20 emails with questions about different legal issues: from school food to the mobilization of educators.
“We take up some subject when we have received a sufficient number of requests about it. No question in the clarifications of the section “We have questions” is made up by the office. This is either a specific question from a specific reader, or a generalized question that accumulates several concrete questions about one topic,” says Victoria Koval, the chief editor of the “New Ukrainian School” media.
– We feel that readers really need these clarifications. We see that from the number of questions that we receive by email every day. Sometimes cases are so specific that no regulation can cover them. It is especially valuable, as we have experts in the legal sphere who can answer the questions of educators, parents, and students in a professional manner and with care for the stakeholders.
The answers to the questions are provided by professional lawyers: Volodymyr Bozhynsky, expert from the Analytical centre “OsvitAnalityka” of Kyiv Borys Hrinchenko University and Roman Bondarenko, “Parents SOS” NGO lawyer.
If you also want to receive a professional response with a legal view, send a request to the office through the “Write to us” option in the upper right corner of the website.
Yet, Victoria adds: “Sometimes you might have written an email, but you do not see the answer. Our legal expertise resource is limited, so we primarily reply to the most popular requests.“
Previous clarifications could be viewed in the website section “There are questions”. On average we publish them three times a month. That is why, probably, “NUS” might have already answered your question in the previous materials.
Media nus.org.ua, created in 2017 to communicate the “New Ukrainian School” reform, has become an informal platform for communication between educators, officials, and parents. Currently, “NUS” is one of the biggest media sources in Ukraine about education, which comprehensively covers the news of kindergartens and schools, promotes the best cases from Ukrainian schools, and covers legal practices. Every month, the website is visited by 500,000 unique users.
