Smart Osvita, the Atlantic Bilingual School along with the support of the ChildFund Deutschland (German Children’s Fund) are enrolling students of 1-9 grades, whose education and schooling are interrupted due to the ongoing war.
The registration is available at the link below. Classes will start on April 4th and run until June 30th.
Students are enrolled for various reasons. These include those students who are not currently studying with their classes, those who have not joined distant learning in other Ukrainian schools, those that have missed a significant part of their school year, as well as those that cannot study with a certain online format.
Please Note: A child must be able to complete the study through June to be approved for participation in this program. Due to the time lost as a result of the war, the children have already missed a month of study. It will take teachers about a month to catch up and close the gap. After that, the children will study following state requirements for two months and complete their studies at the level stipulated by state standards.
Due to resource restraints, currently, our study program can only accept a total of 72 students. Admission to the study program is based on the time that the application is received. The student whose application arrives first will have first consideration, then we move to the next application that we receive, and to the next, and so on until the full capacity is reached. NGO “Smart Education” will look for additional opportunities to accommodate more students going forward.
The following is a brief overview of how students will study with our program.
Students will study with the teacher online (daily lessons of all subjects will be conducted in Zoom). Classes will take place in small groups (8-10 children). During the day children will have between 4 to 7 lessons, depending on the grade level. If necessary parents will be able to communicate with teachers and receive feedback on their child’s progress at various stages of learning.
If necessary, the Atlantic school will also officially admit children and provide the required documents detailing the courses attended and the number of hours studied at the end of the year. After participating in the program, in September, children will be able to continue their studies instead of returning to the topics and curriculum of February 2022.
In addition to the subjects provided by the state program, each student will study English in depth. Children will also meet with a psychologist weekly. The purpose of such meetings is to provide psychological support and assistance.
Our program involves systematic teaching and learning. The students’ regular interaction with teachers and other adults is good not only for academic purposes, but it is also beneficial for their emotional well-being.
The learning environment, positive feedback, communication with other children, monitoring each child’s progress, and normalization of emotions are crucial for the child to return to effective learning after stress. The teachers of Atlantic School will provide these to the best of their abilities.
