Did you know that there is a unique formula for stress resistance?
With Natalia Portnytska, we studied stress resistance in the educational space, as well as the peculiarities of the teacher’s interaction with children and adolescents with mental health difficulties:
- how to talk to schoolchildren about stress and its impact on mental health;
- what can teachers do to build the stress resistance of children and adolescents in the educational process;
- methods of self-help in stressful situations;
- signs of mental health difficulties in children and adolescents;
- support for children with mental health difficulties, etc.
With Iryna Tychyna, the participants learned more about the peculiarities of the teacher’s interaction with parents / guardians regarding the mental health problems of children / teenagers, in particular, what advice the teacher can give to parents / guardians to support the mental health of teenagers in difficult situations. Also, about the teacher’s interaction with children and adolescents in crisis states and situations, in particular:
- signs of crisis states in children and adolescents;
- responding and supporting children;
- psychoeducation for children and adolescents;
- techniques of helping children and adolescents in crisis situations, etc.
Participants also had a unique opportunity to attend a workshop by psychologist Svitlana Royz: “Practical pediatrics. Resilience workshop for children”. This became a practical part of the training, where the participants had the opportunity to delve into themselves and get more exciting techniques for working with children, learn about the prevention of burnout, maintaining the state of their resources, breathing exercises, but also a little theory about the physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioral reactions of a person to stress, stages of calming a child (adult), strategies and tools for stabilizing the emotional background and much more.
We remind you that the basic principles of training from the NGO "Smart Osvita" are:
• evidence (use of guidelines of international guidelines DSM-5, SAMHSA);
• reliance on own experience;
• psychoeducation;
• combination of theory and practice;
• creativity;
• self-efficacy;
• mutual support.
